First cinema trip of 2012, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows!

On Wednesday 11th. Society discount ticket price is still £2.85. Either meet up at Isaacs at 18:00 to get food and chat then go down to the film a little bit later, or meet in Cineworld at 20:00. Here’s what you need to do to get the soc discount:

1. Give us the £2.85 in advance anytime before Wed 11th and show your membership card. The best time is in a Monday session and it’s preferable you give the money to me.

2. If you’ve paid and can’t make it contact us through email/Facebook/the website/whatever before 17:00 on Wed 11th to get your money back. If you don’t then there’s no guarantee of a refund.

OK here’s two sequels I expected to be really bad, cheap, cash-ins but they actually look pretty good. Or at the very least they look a hell of a lot better than their previous films.

TV Soc Christmas Special

Hey guys next week is the final week of term and TV Soc is doing its annual Christmas week.

Monday we have fun Christmas specials of Leverage, Mythbusters, and X-Files.

Friday is special Christmas Double Feature starting at 16:00 we’ll be watching the greatest Christmas movies ever! The Muppet Christmas Carol and Die Hard!

Based on the classic Sci-Fi novel Princess of Mars the new movie looks pretty good so far:

Unofficial Ghostbusters Cinema outing

Ghostbusters is back in the cinema for one day only! Who wants to go see it? We’ll meet up at Cineworld at 20:30 on Tuesday 15 Nov.

This isn’t regular trip as we can’t get a half-price discount for it. But regular old Student Discount is worth it to see Ghostbusters in cinemas again. It will be busy and packed because of the “one day one time” screening so don’t be late or else you’ll have trouble finding a seat.

(And you thought modern trailers told you all the plot )

Here’s something interesting that was pointed out to me, a “found footage” movie but about superpowers:

It’s another grab at the superhero genre that’s popular at the moment. It could be good and will probably explore what makes a hero, as usual. IT is nice to see a “found footage” movie that isn’t a horror.
